Description
The project focuses on how industrial accidents - potential and actual - are managed in the building industry. I explore how risks, close-to events and accidents in the building industry are put-into-speech and acted upon. More concretely I explore how risks and accidents are categorized and what kind of control initiatives are coupled to the understanding of risks and occurred accidents in practice. The project is comparative in the sense that part of it is historical while another (and greater part) is case-based and compares the approach of a Danish firm and a Norwegian firm to working environment, safety, and risk management. The study is qualitative and builds on a broad range of empirical data consisting of interviews, observations and documents.
